DESCRIPTION:Fr Anthony Fyk\, Director of Liturgical Formation invites Readers to sign up for the upcoming Formation Day for Ministers of the Word on Saturday 17th October 2026. \nThe programme for the day: \n\n9.00   Mass\n9.30   Tea and coffee\n10.00  Session 1: Ministry of Readers in general \n(Fr Anthony Fyk\, Director of Liturgical Formation)\n10.45  Break\n11.00  Session 2: Children as Readers\n(Catherine Hobbs\, Diocesan Director for Education)\n11.45  Lunch (please bring your own sandwiches)\n12.15 Session 3: Techniques and Talent of Proclaiming the Word of God (Mo Griffiths)\n13.00  Questions\n13.15   Depart\n\nThis session will be held at the Pastoral Centre\, Jewry Street\, Winchester SO23 8RY \nParking is very limited at the Pastoral Centre. Here are some nearby options: \n\nJewry Street car park (limited spaces): located opposite the church\nTower Street Multi-story car park: 5 minutes’ walk from the centre\nSt Peter’s car park\, Gordon Road\, SO23 7DD: 4 minutes’ walk from the centre\nRiver Park car park\, 15 Gordon Road\, SO23 76DD: 5 minutes’ walk from the centre\nThere are also Park and Ride services (available on the East\, South and West sides of the city)\, and these are serviced by buses that stop near the Arc (opposite St Peter’s Church)\n\nPlease bring your own sandwiches. An inspiring day of teaching\, prayer\, practical formation\, and fellowship\, designed to equip clergy and laity to build vibrant parish evangelisation cells. The “Parish Cell System” (often called PECs) focuses on transforming parishes into active\, missionary communities through small\, home-based groups (cells) focused on relationship-building and scripture.
