WCA: Windsor Christian Action
Our Parish actively supports local charities and has a long association with Windsor Christian Action (operating name Alma Beacon). WCA was founded as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2013 to provide assistance and ongoing support to the vulnerable of Windsor. The Charity (registered number 1154308) currently has 10 Trustees, 4 employees and approximately 150 volunteers, and comprises three projects: Windsor Street Angels, Windsor Homeless Project, and Windsor Foodshare.
Those three projects have continued to grow each year and are a key part of our community. They were recently brought together in a very tangible way when the Charity first took possession of and then extensively refurbished a new building: Alma Beacon, 73A Alma Road, Windsor SL4 3HD.
This fully equipped building enables the Charity to support and improve the lives of those in our community who are experiencing night-time vulnerability, homelessness, loneliness or food poverty.
WINDSOR STREET ANGELS
Windsor Street Angels play a vital role in keeping Windsor safe by supporting residents and visitors every Friday and Saturday night. Our volunteers, who patrol the streets until the early hours, are a visible presence to anyone in distress or generally vulnerable. Their help can take many forms including: charging phones and arranging transport home for clubgoers who might be worse for wear, supplying provisions to rough sleepers, administering first aid and coming to the aid of individuals who are subject to predatory behaviour. The Angels also play a vital role in keeping Windsor safe by providing a place of safety and sanctuary to those in need, in the form of a Safety Hub.

THE WINDSOR HOMELESS PROJECT
Operating out of Alma Beacon building, the Windsor Homeless Project provides practical support to the vulnerable and homeless. Guests are invited to enjoy a hot meal in welcoming surroundings with access to showers, healthcare assistance, and other services. Importantly, managers and visiting professionals attend the Project to help guests rebuild their lives, providing assistance with housing and tenancy, jobs, addiction support, training and other advice. During the coldest months of the year a night shelter for rough sleepers and additional evening warm hub facilities are provided.
WINDSOR FOODSHARE
Windsor Foodshare currently helps almost 200 people per week in our local community who are suffering food poverty. Working with our community partners on a referral basis, we provide top-up food parcels of nutritious ingredients to those who would otherwise go hungry. We give out non-perishable foods, including tea and cereals, as well as fresh eggs, bakery items and fresh fruit and vegetables. We rely on donations and support from our local community to be able to meet increasing demand. Our amazing group of volunteers help in sorting food for deliveries, distribution, and in fundraising, treating everyone and each other equally, and with kindness and respect.
