A call to bring Christ closer to our neighbours

The Church exists to evangelise. Not only through preaching, but through Service, Outreach and Worship (SOW). We are not meant to be just four communities living side‑by‑side, but a missionary family, rooted in Christ and sent out for the sake of the Gospel.

This means strengthening our worship, deepening our outreach, renewing our ministries, forming disciples and welcoming newcomers with warmth and joy. But this mission cannot be carried by the priests and deacons alone. It must be carried by all of us, together.

Your gifts matter. Your presence matters. You are needed.

Every parish thrives when its people step forward with their time, talent, and heart. Some of you have served faithfully for many years. Some of you are newly arrived. Some of you may feel unsure of what you can offer. But I want to say this clearly:

There is a place for you in the mission of the Holy Family Parish.

Across our four churches, we are now building a renewed network of ministries; pastoral, liturgical, catechetical, social, musical, practical and missionary. This is a moment of grace to begin again, to step forward, and to help shape the future of our parish.

I’m very aware that geographically, we are a community often made up of two parent families who both work, often both full-time, or young adults who have moved out of London and families struggling to make ends meet.

We are a diverse community and we also have a high number of retired, elderly, but often lonely members of our Parish. There are also a small number of very dedicated people in our community who seem to do an awful lot and it’s part of my mission to make sure that more people commit time too.

If we all commit to one hour, once per month in the service of God and the Holy Family Parish, to lighten the load, our faith community would be strengthened and resilient for whatever the future brings…. so if you were to only be involved in one area, what could you do?
