Diocesan Formation day for Parish Cell creation
Join us for the Portsmouth Diocese Parish Evangelisation Cell Formation Day, on Saturday 31st October, 9:30am – 1:30pm at Christ the King, Reading. An inspiring day of teaching, prayer, practical formation, and fellowship, designed to equip clergy and laity to build vibrant parish evangelisation cells. The “Parish Cell System” (often called PECs) focuses on transforming parishes into active, missionary communities through small, home-based groups (cells) focused on relationship-building and scripture. More information is available here.
Whether you are new to the Parish Evangelisation Cell System or already involved in a parish cell, this day will help you:
- Deepen your understanding of evangelisation and missionary discipleship.
- Learn how parish cells foster faith, community, and outreach.
- Gain practical tools for leading and growing a parish cell.
- Meet and learn from others committed to parish renewal.
- Be encouraged and empowered by prayer, worship, and shared experience.
Who is it for? Everyone is welcome, priests, deacons, parish leaders, existing cell members, and anyone who feels called to share the Gospel more effectively in their parish.
Who will be speaking? Fr Paul Fenech, the international president of the International Service of the Parish Cells of Evangelisation (IOSPCE), Fr Victor Vella, Promotor for English of Parish Cells of Evangelisation and Canon Michael Dennehy, whose parish in our diocese has four Parish Cells of Evangelisation
Come and discover how small groups, centred on prayer, formation, and evangelisation, can help transform parish life and bring others into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
