Catenians

Strengthening Family life through Friendship and Faith – this is the essence of the Catenians.

It is an association for men, but wives and families are involved in our activities too and many brothers take an active role in parish activities. Maidenhead Catenians is part of an international organisation with local groups (known as Circles) throughout the UK and in Ireland, Australia, Malta, India, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Maidenhead Catenian members are drawn from a catchment area which also includes the two churches in Maidenhead, and the churches based in Marlow, Henley, Twyford, Wargrave, and Burnham.

Maidenhead Catenians support an annual charity , ranging in recent years from Aid for Ukraine to  Aid to the Church in Need  and The Lifestyle Club (for those with diabetes). A highlight of the year is the annual Musical Evening, running for over 30 years, performed by singers from the English National Opera and other professional bodies; this event is open to everyone in our Parish community with profits from the event going to the annual charity.

We support catholic young people too. At Christmas, we provide presents for children at our two Maidenhead primary schools. We give careers support for the two Catholic secondary schools in Slough, where many of our young people go to school. We also organise an annual public speaking competition for sixth formers at Catholic schools in the Thames Valley area. Through our national Bursary Fund, we sponsor young people doing community projects abroad or helping at Lourdes.

If you would like to find out more about the Catenian Association then we would welcome your call.
