MHM: Mill Hill Missionaries

St. Joseph’s Missionary Society of Mill Hill

We are an international fellowship of Catholic missionaries dedicated to announcing the Good News of Jesus Christ to people throughout the world.

Our mission is to create deeply spiritual Christ-like communities everywhere, and offering our own spiritually rooted international fellowship, as a sign that the Kingdom is present and operative in our world today.

We believe that the Kingdom of God is the pearl of great value and that the Gospel is the power of God saving all who have faith. To receive this gift ourselves, we set out hearts on God’s Kingdom and righteousness.

We are very lucky that the Holy Family Parish is led by three Mill Hill Missionary Priests, Father Liam, our Parish Priest, Father Ephraim and Father Kevin, who have who bring with them experience of many different cultures.

True to their missionary vocation, they have left their country and their own culture, to bring together people of different races and become incarnate in every culture and nation.

Red Boxes

In England & Wales a partnership has existed since 1937 between the Society and Missio’s Association for the Propagation of the Faith.

Mill Hill Missionaries and their collaborators are responsible for preaching mission appeals and enrolling supporters who pray for the missions and donate funds, via the famous Red Boxes, for missionary projects around the world.

Local secretaries and promoters visit homes to empty the Red Boxes and to distribute copies of Mission Today, the magazine that provides readers in England and Wales with missionary news.

Missio and Mill Hill supporters are invited to annual diocesan events to celebrate mission, receive the Church’s thanks, and to learn of the good their generosity has accomplished. Mill Hill priests, Brothers and Associates are also involved in organising parish gatherings aimed at strengthening a missionary  outlook in the local Church.

Used Stamps

Missio welcomes donations of used stamps throughout the year, which raises valuable funds for them. A Special Box is provided in the Church Porch at St. Thomas More to receive any that you may have.

Luke 4 18-19

Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,  because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour”.
