Exploring Our Parish Vision Further: Our Mission

SOW

Service – accepting and deepening God’s presence in all aspects of our lives, proclaiming the Word of God through what we say, what we do and who we are.

Outreach – to strive for the common good by working in our communities with those in need.

Worship – to give thanks to God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for all God has given us, and developing our strength of faith.

We will achieve the Parish Vision by:

  • Trusting in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • Worshipping as individuals and as a community.
  • Welcoming people individually and as a community so that they know that their presence makes a difference not only to themselves and to God but also to the community where they worship.
  • Helping each other in the understanding of our faith and through difficult times.
  • Celebrating our liturgy in an vibrant and inspirational way that people of all ages, cultures and abilities can understand and enjoy.
  • Participating wholeheartedly both in prayer and socially in the life of our community
  • Spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through what we do and say and by living the ‘Word’.
  • Celebrating diversity, recognising and respecting our differences in backgrounds, identities and experiences as we come together as one faith community
  • Supporting our young people as a wider faith community so they develop their understanding and faith in the word of Jesus Christ.
  • Celebrating the achievements and potential of our young people.
  • Working towards Justice and Peace in our community and the world around us.
  • Reaching out and supporting those less well off than ourselves in the communities in which we are based, sharing our gifts and making  our own contributions and giving
  • Learning not only from our own Catholic community but also from the wider Christian community as we work towards Christian Unity.
